Minimum requirement for Skilled Workers

All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to apply as a skilled worker:

- You must have at least one continuous year of full-time, paid work experience or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment
- You must have had this experience within the last 10 years
- Your work experience must be Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC)
- You must have sufficient funds to support yourself and your family members after your arrival in Canada

Post Graduate Work Permit is #1 Work Permit in Canada

The Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) is now the number one work permit in Canada.  It may be obtained after graduating from a Canadian institute and may be valid anywhere between eight months and up to three years depending on the length of study program.  Graduating students who gain one year work experience while holding PGWP may qualify for permanent residence under Canada Experience Class.  In 2019, nearly 200,000 former international students held a PGWP, and around 60,000 former students obtain Canadian permanent residence each year.  PGWP requires students to complete their program of study in Canada.
